I am just a person like you. I need sleep, food, water, and air to continue living. I thought pterosaurs were dinosaurs for a long time, but it turns out they are not.
Hi! I’m the coordinator for the Therapeutic Volunteer Placement program, as well as the Young Adults programs at the Clubhouse. Whatever your goals are in accessing our services, I’m excited to help you make steps in the right direction.
Hi my name is Shelley I have been a Mental Health Worker with Creative Centre Society for Mental Wellness since 2007. I currently work in Cheamview Clubhouse in Chilliwack. I am very proud to be a part of a dedicated, passionate, and professional team. Drop in and see what we are all about.
With a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and experience in support roles since 2023, I bring skills in active listening, empathy, emotional regulation strategies, and trauma-informed care to my work. I am passionate about supporting individuals in building resilience, developing healthy coping skills, and feeling empowered in their wellness journey. Outside of work, I enjoy crocheting stuffed toys for my kids, playing with them, cooking, decorating my home, and reading to continue expanding my knowledge and skills in Counseling.
I love working with my clients one to one and enjoy sharing in their successes. You will often see me in the community with my clients actively working on their goals.
My role is to work alongside clients, while supporting them to achieve their personalized wellness goals. I have both the lived experience and formal education in the mental health field, which enables me to quickly connect and build trusting relationships with those whom I work with. I am very passionate about psychology and holistic wellness and have published a book about my endeavours to overcome the effects of trauma and mental illness. When I’m not working, I am spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy camping, off-roading in the Jeep, writing/blogging, and dancing like no one is watching.
I have been with Creative Center Society since 2016 and worked in both the Clubhouse and in the community. I value building relationships and offering support to others as they work on their wellness. In my spare time, you’ll find me with my family on some sort of adventure or using my creative energy!
I have been working in the mental health industry for over 10 years. I live with my own mental illness and use this lived experience as a way to connect with clients and to have a deeper understanding of what our clients might be going through. My positive optimistic personality is contagious and I am someone who clients love to work with. When not working I love to spend time with my family in nature hugging trees and looking for treasures at the ocean.

various life stages and journeys. I really appreciate getting to know individuals and taking steps
with them to move toward their personal aims and using my education in psychology and
psychosocial rehabilitation. Outside of work, I love reading and getting out near water or into the
forest with my family.
